Khachapuri is a speciality of the Georgian cuisine and comes in many regional varieties, for instance, Imeretian, Megrelian and Adjarian. They all have their specifics, but share the ingredients youghurt, wheatflour, salt, sugar and egg yolk. The khachapuri is filled with cheese and baked on a pan or in the oven. The Adjarian variety found in Batumi has a characteristic shape of a “boat” with cheese and an egg yolk in the middle.
