Travelling by train to Batumi from Tbilisi takes a little over 5 hours. It’s easy to by tickets online (change to English in the rightmost slot in the upper menu). A second class ticket is 25 Lari and a first class ticket is 61 Lari (one way). Note, that there is high demand in the summer season and it is not possible to by tickets online a long time in advance. Show your ticket and passport on entering the train. The train ride is not fast, but enjoyable through a scenic landscape. The train stops only in Kopitnari (Kutaisi airport), Ureki and Kobuleti before Batumi. Free wifi is provided. The Batumi railway station is located at a 10 minutes’ taxi drive from the center.
